The Agent

3 min read · Updated 19 Jul 2026

Everything else in these docs is a tool you drive. The agent is RankAgent doing the work itself — finding what to do, proposing it, and (once you approve) applying it — then leaving a receipt.

Private betaInvite only — not on public plans yet

Private beta

The agent is live in production but behind a per-account beta flag — invited accounts only, not yet on any public plan. Nothing here is auto-marketed until it's ready for everyone. This page documents what exists today for beta members.

Nothing happens without your say-so

The agent is built on one principle: propose, don't surprise. Every action it wants to take becomes a proposed action in an approval queue, with the evidence behind it. You approve, skip, or undo. There's a kill-switch, protected pages, and a full change journal for one-click undo.

Waiting on you, in progress, done, undone — the agent's whole worklist, transparent.

What the agent watches and proposes

  • Guardian watch — every few hours it re-checks your site for accidents: site down, SSL downgrade, a robots.txt that suddenly blocks everything, a noindex that appeared, a missing sitemap. If something flips from OK to broken, it escalates it to you. It's SEO-accident insurance.
  • Google Search Console insights — from your real GSC data it surfaces striking-distance queries (positions 5–15 worth a push), content decay (pages losing clicks quarter over quarter), and cannibalization (two pages splitting one query).
  • Weekly planner — it assembles a small, bounded weekly plan from your ready-to-apply fixes and the week's GSC signals, ordered by your "Your Style" priorities and by which fix categories have historically preceded a score gain on your site.

Each proposal carries a plain-language reason — why the agent thinks it's worth doing.

Applying and undoing

When you approve a fix, the agent applies it (for example, pushing a title change to WordPress), then re-reads the page to confirm it worked and records a before/after in the change journal. Made a mistake? One-click undo restores the previous state.

Approve from your inbox

Each Friday the agent emails a work-log receipt — what it did, what's waiting. The approve and skip links in that email are signed, so a single click resolves the action without even logging in. If you'd rather review in the app, the same email links straight to the dashboard.

Tip

The agent respects the same limits as the rest of RankAgent — it never touches protected pages, stays within caps, and every autonomy level (off / propose / auto) is yours to set per action type.
