RankAgent is an SEO agency in your pocket. It audits your website, tells you in plain English what's costing you customers, writes the fixes for you, and keeps watching so problems don't come back. This guide gets you from sign-up to your first fix.
LiveFree and up
What the status badges mean
Each feature in these docs carries a badge: ● Live (working now), ◍ Live · needs setup (built, but a key/connection turns it on), ◐ Private beta (invite-only, not on public plans yet), ○ Planned (on the roadmap). The 🔑 badge shows which plans include it.
The 60-second version
- Run a free audit at therankagent.com — type your domain, get a 0–100 score and grade in under a minute. No login needed.
- Create an account to add your site to the dashboard and unlock the full multi-page crawl.
- Pick your target keywords — RankAgent asks what you want to rank for before it digs in, so every recommendation is tied to a real goal.
- Work the fixes — each issue comes with a "Fix This" button that writes the exact change for you to paste (or push straight to WordPress).

Adding your first site
From the dashboard, use Add a site and paste your homepage URL. RankAgent runs a full-site crawl — following your internal links, respecting your robots.txt, up to your plan's page limit (5 pages on Free, 200 on Starter and Founding).
Keywords come first
For paid plans, RankAgent asks you to choose your target keywords before the crawl starts. This isn't busywork — it's what lets the tool tell you whether your titles, headings and content actually match what you're trying to rank for. You can change them any time. On the Free plan there are no keywords, so the crawl starts right away.
The dashboard, tab by tab
Once a crawl finishes, each site opens to a simple set of tabs:
- Overview — your score, grade, score-over-time chart, and your co-pilot's greeting.
- Setup / This Week — a short, finite setup journey for a new site; once you're set up, it becomes a bounded "this week" queue of what to do next.
- Fixes — every issue found, grouped by severity, each with an AI-written fix. Also holds the guided checklist, per-page view, and a site-structure health tree.
- Growth — keywords, Google Search Console rank tracking, AI visibility (GEO/AEO), content strategy and calendar.
- Competitors — audit a rival with the same engine and compare side by side.
- History — a proof-of-work timeline and a "progress this month" rollup.
